Ryan Donato is staying in the Windy City.

The Chicago Blackhawks signed the pending unrestricted free-agent forward to a four-year extension with a $4-million average annual value, the team announced Wednesday.

Donato is coming off a breakout year in which he tallied 62 points and a team-leading 31 goals. He had previously never surpassed 16 goals or 31 points in a season.

"Ryan brings energy and competes hard every game which has been a huge asset to our team over the last two seasons," Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson said. "He's been a crucial part of our offense, and we're excited for Ryan to continue to make a difference in our lineup for the next four years."

The 29-year-old also provides ample versatility. He played center for the majority of last season but has spent most of his time in the NHL as a winger.

The Blackhawks originally signed Donato as a free agent in 2023. He's also played for the Boston Bruins, Minnesota Wild, San Jose Sharks, and Seattle Kraken.

Donato is now signed longer than any other Blackhawks forward.
