The Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames are among the clubs interested in Minnesota Wild forward Marco Rossi, reports The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun.
The Canucks covet Rossi more than the Flames, who would prefer to add a center with size, adds LeBrun.
Rossi tallied a career-high 24 goals and 60 points in 80 games this season but found himself on Minnesota's fourth line in the playoffs. He averaged 18:15 during the regular season but just 11:08 in the postseason. He notched two goals and three points in six playoff contests.
The 5-foot-9 pivot is set to become a restricted free agent July 1.
Rossi established himself as an NHL regular in 2023-24 when he totaled 21 goals and 40 points and finished sixth in Calder Trophy voting. Minnesota drafted him ninth overall in 2020.
The Canucks and Flames are looking to add a young, second-line center, and the 23-year-old Rossi fits the mold after his breakout campaign, LeBrun adds.
Wild general manager Bill Guerin confirmed earlier in June he's received calls about Rossi.
Evolving-Hockey projects Rossi to sign a two-year bridge contract with a $4.7-million cap hit or for $7.7 million annually on a maximum eight-year extension.
