Jets' Morrissey day-to-day after leaving game with lower-body injury
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey exited his team's 5-2 victory over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night.
Jets head coach Scott Arniel said his top blue-liner suffered a lower-body ailment and will be re-evaluated Wednesday, according to TSN's John Lu. Arniel added that Morrissey is day-to-day, per the Winnipeg Free Press' Mike McIntyre.
Morrissey crashed into the post in the second period following an accidental collision with teammate Mark Scheifele. The rearguard limped down the tunnel and returned for one brief shift in the frame, but he didn't return for the final stanza.
Morrissey scored a goal and saw 12:24 minutes of ice time before departing.
The 29-year-old is enjoying a stellar campaign with five goals and 33 assists in 42 games.
He ranks among the league leaders in average ice time and came into Tuesday topping all Jets skaters by over two-and-a-half minutes.
