The New York Islanders have announced their 23-man opening night roster, with one very noteworthy inclusion on defense.
Rookie D Griffin Reinhart earned a spot with the Islanders.

Reinhart -19 - was drafted fourth overall in the 2012 NHL Draft, and scored eight goals and 21 assists in 59 games last season for the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League.
Up front, however, another high draft pick was sent down to the AHL.

Strome was drafted fifth overall in 2011, and scored two goals and five assists in Bridgeport last season after being called up from the Niagara Ice Dogs of the Ontario Hockey League, where he registered 34 goals and 60 assists in 53 games.
