The New York Islanders and forward Oliver Wahlstrom avoided arbitration with a one-year contract, the team announced on Thursday.
The deal is worth $1 million, reports Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
He'll once again be a restricted free agent at the end of the deal and won't become an unrestricted free agent until 2027.
Wahlstrom has battled injuries and failed to produce as hoped when healthy. The Islanders drafted him 11th overall in 2018.
His best season came as a rookie in 2020-21 when he recorded 12 goals and nine assists in 44 games. He managed just six points in 32 contests in 2023-24.
The 6-foot-2 winger projects to play a bottom-six role for the Islanders in 2024-25.
