The Buffalo Sabres re-signed restricted free-agent winger Beck Malenstyn to a two-year contract with an annual cap hit of $1.35 million, the team announced Tuesday.
Malenstyn had filed for arbitration earlier in July.
The Sabres acquired Malenstyn from the Washington Capitals on Day 2 of the NHL draft in exchange for pick No. 43 (Cole Hutson).
Malenstyn recorded six goals and 15 assists in 81 games in 2023-24, his first full NHL season. He finished 11th in the league with 241 hits.
The 26-year-old, who's listed at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, projects to play a fourth-line role for the Sabres this coming season.
