Harrington is expected to sign with the Wizards in the near future, the Washington Post reports.
Harrington missed most of last season with a staph infection and unrelated knee pain. The staph infection has healed completely, and he said that he's close to 100 percent health after losing nearly 30 pounds to get down to the playing weight he was at about five years ago. The Wizards are thin in the frontcourt, so there's a chance Harrington could carve out a decent-sized role on the team. Nene will start at power forward or center next season, and the other starting spot will likely be up for grabs in training camp. If Harrington can prove he's healthy and can help stretch the floor, he could push the incumbent Emeka Okafor for the starting job.
