Detroit Red Wings and WWE's CM Punk trade championship boasts

WWE superstar CM Punk isn't new to hockey. Earlier this summer, he posed with the Stanley Cup after his hometown Chicago Blackhawks brought the trophy home, and then Edmonton Oilers goalie Jason LaBarbera painted him onto his goalie mask.

Now Punk, who was the longest reigning WWE Champion since Hulk Hogan in 1984, is starting a feud with the Detroit Red Wings.

On Thursday, the Red Wings posted a video to twitter of Justin Abdelkader and Brendan Smith thumb wrestling for a replica WWE Championship belt...

To which the Second City Saint responded:

Perhaps the feud will continue on Sept. 15 when CM Punk and the WWE are at Joe Louis Arena for the Night of Champions pay per view event.
