The Tampa Bay Lightning are bringing in winger Conor Sheary on a three-year deal with an average annual value of $2 million, the team announced.

Sheary recorded 15 goals and 22 assists in 82 games with the Washington Capitals last season.

The 31-year-old is a two-time Stanley Cup champion, winning back-to-back titles with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and 2017.

Sheary projects to fill a middle-six role with the Lightning. He's just 5-foot-9 and 179 pounds, but he's shown the defensive acumen to play up and down the lineup.
