Sabres scoop up Lyubushkin on 2-year deal

The Buffalo Sabres signed defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin to a two-year deal with an average annual value of $2.75 million, the team announced Wednesday.
Lyubushkin split the 2021-22 season between the Arizona Coyotes and Toronto Maple Leafs. He logged two goals and 13 assists in 77 contests this past season while averaging 17:27 of ice time per contest.
The 28-year-old also set career highs with 187 hits and 92 blocks.
He added one assist in seven playoff games with the Maple Leafs while ranking second on the team with 28 hits.
Lyubushkin has 25 points in 211 career NHL games.
