Pittsburgh Penguins pivot Evgeni Malkin returned to the lineup for Game 3 against the New York Islanders on Thursday.
The 34-year-old registered a pair of assists in the Penguins 5-4 win. It marked Malkin's first game since May 8 due to an undisclosed injury. He had only played three games since March 16 after previously missing 23 contests during the regular season due to a lower-body ailment.
Malkin recorded 28 points in 33 games during the regular season.
Evan Rodrigues was moved out of the lineup to make room for Malkin.
