The New York Rangers ruled out defenseman Jacob Trouba for the remainder of Tuesday's game against the New York Islanders with an upper-body injury, the team announced.

Trouba got hit hard into the boards by Islanders forward Matt Martin. The Rangers blue-liner was visibly shaken up after the collision.

Martin, who ranks in the top 10 in the league in hits, wasn't penalized on the play.

Trouba has registered 12 points in 37 games entering Tuesday. He ranks second among Rangers skaters in average time on ice, logging 21:59 per contest.
