Patrick Kane moved solely into fifth place on the NHL's all-time scoring list among U.S.-born players with his goal on Monday night against the Florida Panthers.
The Chicago Blackhawks forward is now just one point back of tying Keith Tkachuk for fourth place on the list.

Kane is already arguably the greatest American-born player of all time, with his 1.06 career points per game being the best among any player in the top five and trailing only Pat Lafontaine's mark of 1.17 among American-born players.
Additionally, Mike Modano is the only other player in the top five to win a Stanley Cup - Kane has three of them. The 32-year-old is also the only U.S.-born player to ever win the Hart Trophy as league MVP.
Kane is now up to 42 points in 30 games this season, which could put him in conversations for a second career Hart Trophy.
Brett Hull, who racked up 1,391 career points, is notably absent from this list. Even though he represented the United States on the international stage throughout his career, he was born in Belleville, Ontario, and therefore does not qualify.
