Ovi is officially back.
The Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin made his official return Saturday after being added to the active roster.
Ovechkin and defenseman Dmitry Orlov were cleared to return from the COVID-19 list earlier Saturday, head coach Peter Laviolette told NHL.com's Tom Gulitti.
The superstar forward will skate on a line with T.J. Oshie and Richard Panik against the Boston Bruins. Orlov is not playing in the contest.
Ovechkin, Orlov, center Evgeny Kuznetsov, and goaltender Ilya Samsonov had been in quarantine since Jan. 20 after violating COVID-19 protocols. Kuznetsov and Samsonov remain in quarantine.
The Caps went 3-0-1 without four of their most important players.
