Minnesota Wild forward Kevin Fiala has a hearing Friday for boarding Los Angeles Kings defenseman Matt Roy during Thursday's contest, the NHL's Department of Player Safety announced.

The play occurred in the second period. Refs handed Fiala a five-minute major and game misconduct for the infraction.

Roy exited the game and didn't return. Both he and rearguard Sean Walker, who took a puck to the face in the matchup, were evaluated by doctors Thursday night and Kings head coach Todd McLellan is hopeful they're OK.

"They’re both seeing the doctors and getting evaluated right now, I think they’ll both be able to travel home with us," McLellan said postgame, according to LA Kings Insider's Zach Dooley. "Obviously, two very unfortunate incidents in the game, not something we want to see in the game at all. I think they’re going to be OK eventually."

Fiala, 24, hasn't received supplemental discipline from the league over 295 career contests.
