Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James' voting-rights group and the Los Angeles Dodgers have partnered to create a polling place at Dodger Stadium for the U.S. election in November, the team announced Thursday.
The Dodgers' agreement with More Than a Vote is the first time an MLB club has offered its facility as a voting center.
"I may still be new to L.A., but (it) didn't take long for me to learn how special the relationship is between the Dodgers and Lakers," James said, according to Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times. "We are all in this together. I'm really proud we were able to help the Dodgers become the first MLB stadium to open for voting."
Dodgers left-hander David Price is among those involved in James' group.
All voters in Los Angeles County will be able to use the stadium for five days leading up to the Nov. 3 election.
The NBA's Atlanta Hawks, Milwaukee Bucks, and Detroit Pistons have already offered up their arenas for voting.
