Sabres forward Sam Reinhart was in no mood to answer a reporter's question about backchecking following Buffalo's 4-3 shootout loss to the last-place Detroit Red Wings on Thursday night.

"Is that the kind of backchecking this team needs? The play clearly looked like you stopped and almost quit on your team," The Buffalo News' Mike Harrington asked.

Reinhart laughed before answering: "I don't think I'm going to value that question right now."

Reinhart couldn't chase down Dylan Larkin, who was able to score a key goal for the Red Wings with just 0.2 seconds left in the opening period. Reinhart was at the end of a shift spanning one minute and 42 seconds.

Buffalo has now lost five of its last six games and sits 10 points out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Reinhart called out his Sabres teammates after a 6-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night.
