Galchenyuk was initially listed as a game-time decision due to a lower-body injury that limited him to just one preseason contest.
Pittsburgh acquired Galchenyuk from the Arizona Coyotes on June 29 as part of the Phil Kessel trade. The 25-year-old tallied 19 goals and 41 points in 72 games for the Coyotes in 2018-19.
