Rask shuts out Caps to become Bruins' all-time wins leader

Tuukka Rask entered the Boston Bruins' record books in style Sunday.

The Bruins netminder stopped all 24 shots he faced in a 1-0 victory over the Washington Capitals to become the franchise's all-time wins leader with 253, passing Hall of Famer Tiny Thompson.

He accomplished the feat in 477 games. It took Thompson 468 games to reach 252 wins - without the benefit of shootout victories.

Rask is also the franchise's leader in save percentage but trails Thompson in goals-against average (1.99) and shutouts (74).

The 31-year-old has turned things around after a slow start to the season; he entered Sunday with an impressive .920 save percentage and a 2.45 goals-against average.
