Predators sign KHL star Tolvanen to entry-level contract

The NHL's top team has added a little more ammo.

On Thursday, Nashville Predators general manager David Poile announced the club has signed forward Eeli Tolvanen to an entry-level contract.

The Predators selected Tolvanen with the 30th overall pick in last year's draft.

After two seasons with the USHL's Sioux City Musketeers, and after his application to Boston College was rejected, the Finnish native opted to spend this season in the KHL to better his game in a pro league.

With Jokerit, Tolvanen tallied a team-leading 21 goals and finished second in team scoring with 38 points.

According to Predators coach Peter Laviolette, Tolvanen could make his NHL debut as early as Saturday against the Buffalo Sabres.
