Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck won't return to the lineup in time for the Colts' Week 16 game against the Miami Dolphins.
The team ruled out any possibility of Luck returning from his five-game absence Monday.
Reports on when (or if) Luck will return this season have been sketchy. The Colts have alternately expressed optimism and pessimism.
Luck hasn't played since suffering a lacerated kidney against the Denver Broncos in Week 9. At the time, the team announced he would miss between two and six weeks.
The Colts are 2-3 behind Matt Hasselbeck since Luck's injury and have fallen out of first place in the AFC South.
