The University of Georgia has confirmed running back Nick Chubb will undergo surgery to repair damage to multiple ligaments and cartilage in his left knee.
Chubb's ACL did not suffer any damage, and no arteries or nerves were damaged, either.
Chubb's mother revealed on Facebook Sunday that her son suffered a PCL tear "along with two other ligaments" during the first play from scrimmage against Tennessee on Saturday, adding the injury isn't "as bad as it could've been."
The sophomore will wait a couple of weeks for the swelling to go down before he has surgery.
Chubb entered Saturday's game with a school-record 13 straight games with at least 100 rushing yards. He'll finish the season with 745 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.
