Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was fined $75,000 for not speaking to the media after the NFC Championship Game, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.
Lynch was previously fined $100,000 for not meeting media obligations earlier in the year, and was threatened with a $75,000 sanction for dodging reporters after the Super Bowl.
Notably reclusive from the media, Lynch debuted his "I'm just here so I won't get fined" phrase during Media Day, which was later trademarked.
Lynch is often portrayed as being averse or hostile to the media, although he's cooperated in prominent profiles with ESPN's "E:60," SB Nation, and NFL Network's Michael Silver, while making cameos on "Conan" and FX's "The League."
The Seahawks star was going to appeal the fine, but dropped his protest, according to Florio.
In the past, Lynch served as a litmus test for how the public views athletes' relations with the media. After another hefty fine, the team could respond aggressively.
