The Buffalo Bills' initial fears about Ty Powell's knee injury were realized Tuesday, as tests confirmed the third-year linebacker tore his ACL in Monday's practice and is out for the season.
Powell is the second defensive player lost to an ACL injury in less than a week. Defensive end Jairus Wynn was placed on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday after injuring his knee in Friday's preseason opener.
Powell was the Bills' top reserve behind starting linebackers Nigel Bradham and Preston Brown.
