Anthony Davis shocked many when he announced his retirement from the NFL at the age of 25, but the former San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle hasn't closed the books on his career just yet.
When asked by a fan on Twitter if he intends to return next season, Davis replied, "Yes, that's the Plan," according to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com.
Davis cited health concerns as the reason behind his decision to walk away from the game in June, saying he hoped to return "in a year or so" after giving his body time to heal. He was limited to seven games last season due to shoulder, hamstring, knee, and concussion issues.
The 49ers placed Davis on the reserve/retired list, meaning that if he does attempt a comeback in 2016, he would still be under contract with the team for another five seasons.
