Eagles' JaCorey Shepherd diagnosed with torn ACL

The Philadelphia Eagles will likely be without JaCorey Shepherd for the season after an MRI revealed the rookie cornerback suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's practice.

Shepherd, a sixth-round pick out of Kansas, was injured after colliding with running back Darren Sproles. He went down immediately clutching his knee and had to be carted off the field.

The loss of Shepherd hurts the Eagles' cornerback depth. However, as Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com notes, the team planned to move Nolan Carroll to the slot and use rookie Eric Rowe on the outside, meaning Shepherd likely would've spent the majority of the season on the bench.
