It was a forgettable 2014 for Chicago Bears defensive end Jared Allen. After a bout with pneumonia saw the pass rusher lose a considerable amount of weight, he never really got on track last season.
Allen had the lowest sack total of his career, but he's ready to put a rough campaign behind him.
Jared Allen to #Bears All Access: "In reality, I probably should have taken 6 weeks off [last year] to get my weight back after pneumonia."

"I wasn't the me I wanted to be," Jared Allen tells #Bears All Access of his mentality. "[Now, I'll] come back and bust someone's head."

With the Bears transitioning to a 3-4 defense, some feel Allen may have a reduced role this year and that he won't be able to regain his form. Allen is ready to prove them wrong.
Jared Allen to #Bears All Access on if he's motivated by those who say he's done: "Yeah, absolutely. I always want to be the best."

It may be unrealistic for Allen to think he can be the best at 33, but the Bears will probably settle for the guy that gave them fits for years while with the Minnesota Vikings.
