Seahawks' Bruce Irvin on contract: 'I'm going to be in Atlanta next season'
Seattle Seahawks rush linebacker Bruce Irvin already knows exactly where he expects to play next season - and it isn't Seattle.
"I’m going to be in Atlanta next season. I'm ready," Irvin told Samuel Logan of BlackSportsOnline.com.
The Seahawks recently declined to exercise Irvin's fifth-year option, sparking a profane series of tweets from Irvin, who is set to hit free agency after the 2015 season.
Asked if Irvin would re-sign with the Seahawks if the money is right, the 27-year-old doubled down on his insistence he'll soon be a Falcon.
"Atlanta is where I want to be. Believe that," Irvin said.
The Falcons are rumored to have interest in trading for Irvin before he hits free agency. New Falcons head coach Dan Quinn was Irvin's defensive coordinator with the Seahawks.
