Adrian Peterson on playing for Cowboys: 'It would be nice'

Adrian Peterson would love to play at home. 

The embattled Minnesota Vikings running back, in Houston on Tuesday night watching the Rockets close out the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the NBA playoffs, said in an interview that playing for the Dallas Cowboys "would be nice."

"I've got family here, my dad's here," Peterson, from Palestine, Texas, added. "But I'm under contract, so we'll see." 

Earlier Tuesday, Vikings general manager Rick Spielman put to bed any notion that Peterson will be traded, saying he has "no interest" in dealing the 30-year-old. 

"We can just end the Adrian Peterson stuff," Spielman said. "Our position has not changed. We have no interest in trading Adrian Peterson." 

Peterson's under contract for another three years, and set to make $45 million. He was reinstated by the league earlier in April, after playing only one game in 2014 due to a child abuse charge.
