Cleveland Browns offensive tackle Joe Thomas had some choice words for Johnny Manziel earlier this month, but he has quickly done an about-face.
After saying Manziel had lost a lot of the team's trust, Thomas spoke more positively about his quarterback on Tuesday.
"The way he is now is night and day from last year," Thomas told Andrea Kremer of NFL Network. "He has a bright future ahead of him."
Thomas has noticed a real change in Manziel since he left treatment and believes he's now more focused on football.
"It's apparent he's realized how important football is to him. He's realized you can't get away with those things anymore. As one of the leaders, it'll be my job to talk to him sometimes, (but) he's already impressed a lot of people here now in the last couple of weeks," Thomas said.
Manziel will be competing for the starting job this offseason with Josh McCown and any other quarterback the Browns may bring in during the draft.
