Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Chris Matthews chose the grandest stage to become his team's offensive savior.

Matthews - the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie in 2012 - hauled in a 11-yard touchdown pass with two seconds remaining in the first half to tie Super Bowl XLIX at 14-14.

#Seahawks Chris Matthews didn't have a catch in the regular season, now he has a #SuperBowl TD on a huge play call!

The Seahawks' unheralded wide receiver caught a 44-yard pass earlier in the first half, helping to revive a stagnant offense.

Matthews went on to finish the game leading all Seahawks receivers with four catches for 109 yards.
