The San Francisco 49ers didn't have to look far to find their new defensive coordinator.
The 49ers are expected to hire Eric Mangini, who served as the team's tight ends coach the past two seasons, to fill the role, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Although he served on the offensive staff in San Fran, Mangini is widely regarded as a strong defensive mind.
He has head-coaching experience with the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns.
