The Tennessee Titans placed running back Dexter McCluster on injured reserve with a knee injury Thursday, ending his season.
The move isn't surprising considering McCluster was ruled out of Thursday's game a day ago and reporters covering the team speculated he could be shut down for the season.
McCluster signed with the Titans as a free agent in the spring. He rushed for 131 yards on 40 attempts (2.9 yards per carry) and added 197 yards and a touchdown on 26 receptions.
In a corresponding roster move, the Titans promoted receiver Rico Richardson from the practice squad.
