This season has been full of firsts for Baltimore Ravens rookie defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan, from his first NFL game to his first sack.
On Wednesday, he experienced another first: snow.
Jernigan, a native of Lake City, Fla., and former Florida State Seminole, had never seen snow before Wednesday afternoon. Once practice had wrapped up, he ventured outside to learn how to build a snowman.
"I need some carrots, buttons, mittens," Jernigan told the team's official website. "All donations are welcome. I figure I'll get me a good (snowman) foundation and I'll finish it up after meetings."
But in the middle of his snowman-building workshop, Jernigan was called back inside by Ravens senior director of public relations, Chad Steele. Turns out, Jernigan's 4 p.m. meeting had been bumped up to 3:30 and he was late.
Hopefully the Ravens went easy on the rookie.
