Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton remains in a walking boot following offseason ankle surgery but there have been no reported setbacks, according to a report from Pro Football Talk.
PFT's Darin Gantt said the Panthers are hopeful Newton will be 100 percent by the time training camp starts. It is unlikely, however, Newton will participate in offseason workouts with a slew of new receivers, including free-agent signees Jason Avant, Jerricho Cotchery, and Tiquan Underwood.
Newton, entering his fourth year in the league, threw for 3,379 yards and rushed for another 585 in 2013.
