New York Giants quarterback J.J. McCarthy exited Sunday's Week 9 contest against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a hip injury and is listed as questionable to return.

McCarthy suffered the injury when an Eagles defender hit him in the side as he finished a run. The signal-caller immediately left the game and was replaced by Jameis Winston.

Moments later, McCarthy collapsed in pain while throwing a pass on the sideline. He then spent time in the medical tent before jogging to the locker room.

The 23-year-old completed 9 of 13 passes for 101 yards with no touchdowns or turnovers before leaving the game.

McCarthy took over as the Giants' starter in Week 7 and led them to a 27-21 win over the Houston Texans. New York acquired him from the Minnesota Vikings in late September for a 2027 fifth-round pick.
