Los Angeles Rams safety Quentin Lake seemed to enjoy facing struggling Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert in Week 8.
Herbert threw a pair of interceptions, one of which Lake was responsible for, in the Chargers' 24-9 loss to their crosstown rival.
"I mean, he was throwing deli meat out there," Lake said during Wednesday's episode of the "St. Brown Podcast." "He's seeing ghosts, I'm not gonna lie. ... We knew we were gonna get a couple."
Herbert struggled to find rhythm against the Rams' defense, completing 24 of 32 passes for 257 yards with no touchdowns and two picks. The 28-year-old has thrown a league-high 10 interceptions through seven games.
Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh is standing behind embattled offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel and Herbert despite the team's 0-7 start to the season.
"I believe in our players, our coaches, and, yeah, it's us who are the ones that the challenge is with. ... We're the only ones that can fix it," Harbaugh said postgame Sunday, per ESPN.
Herbert hasn't thrown a touchdown in either of the Chargers' past two games. His 2026 campaign marks the fifth season that he's thrown 10 or more picks, and the two-time Pro Bowler is on pace to surpass his career high of 15, set in 2021.
Los Angeles will host the Houston Texans on Sunday.
