Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson exited Sunday's 23-16 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first quarter with an ankle injury and did not return.
Jefferson went to the locker room during the second quarter after spending time in the medical tent. It's unclear how he suffered the injury.
Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said postgame that Jefferson "got close a couple times" to returning, according to Ben Goessling of The Minneapolis Star Tribune.
The 27-year-old notched two receptions for 32 yards before exiting. He entered Sunday with a team-leading 147 receiving yards through two games.
A two-time first-team All-Pro, Jefferson hasn't missed a game since the 2023 campaign, when he was absent for seven games due to a hamstring injury.
