Colts' Pierce carted off with heel injury vs. Chiefs

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a left heel injury, the team announced.

X-rays on Pierce's heel injury came back negative, but he will undergo more testing Monday, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Pierce hopped off the field before being carted to the locker room during the first half.

Pierce had offseason surgery on his left ankle. The procedure kept the pass-catcher sidelined for the majority of the summer, with his first practice not occurring until Aug. 27.

Pierce signed a four-year, $114-million contract in March after having a breakout 2025 campaign. The 26-year-old recorded 47 catches for 1,003 yards, giving him a league-high average of 21.3 yards per reception.

He caught his lone target for 11 yards prior to his exit Sunday. Pierce also reeled in four catches for 61 yards in the Colts' Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
