The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Vita Vea have agreed to terms on a one-year, $30-million extension, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The extension keeps Vea, who was entering the final year of his deal, under contract for two more seasons. He receives $6 million in new money this year, Schefter adds.
The 31-year-old was scheduled to earn $18 million this season prior to his extension.
The agreement keeps Vita Vea in Tampa Bay through the 2027 season. Vea will earn a $6 milion increase over the $18 million he was set to earn in 2026. He also will make $24 million in 2027, so the “new money” is $30 million over the length of the deal.

Vea requested a trade in July after the two sides couldn't agree on an new contract. However, the Bucs never publicly expressed interest in moving the defensive tackle.
The Bucs selected Vea 12th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. He's been a key fixture of their defensive line ever since, starting 107 games over his career. He produced 4.5 sacks last year and registered a career-high seven sacks in 2024.
