Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai is expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering a hyperextended knee, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Monangai left Sunday's practice early, and an MRI reportedly revealed his injury Monday.
Monangai stood out as a seventh-round rookie last year, rushing for 783 yards (4.6 per carry) and five touchdowns in 17 appearances.
The Rutgers product is projected to have a big role in Chicago's offense while sharing the backfield with veteran running back D'Andre Swift.
The Bears' RB depth chart also features Roschon Johnson and Brittain Brown, among others.
