Pro Bowl running back Jonathan Taylor and the Indianapolis Colts have reached an agreement on an extension, the team announced Thursday.
It's a two-year, $44-million contract, ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport report. The deal, which reportedly includes $39 million guaranteed, is worth up to $47 million.
Taylor's new contract is the second-highest in average annual salary among running backs behind only Bijan Robinson, who inked a three-year contract worth up to $75 million with the Atlanta Falcons this week.
Taylor said in June that he wanted to be a "Colt for life" while entering the final season of a three-year, $42-million extension signed in 2023.
The 27-year-old earned his third career Pro Bowl nod in 2025 after rushing for 1,585 yards (4.9 per carry) and an NFL-high 18 touchdowns. He also led the league with 323 carries.
Taylor, an All-Pro in 2021, battled multiple injuries from 2022-24 but appeared in every game last season.
The 2020 second-round pick is the latest cornerstone of the Colts' offense to sign a long-term deal this year. Indianapolis also rewarded quarterback Daniel Jones (two years, $88 million) and wide receiver Alec Pierce (four years, $114 million) with lucrative extensions.
