Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is already a big fan of wide receiver DJ Moore after the team acquired him from the Chicago Bears in March for a second-round selection.
"I think what D.J.'s gonna bring to us, obviously veteran leadership, he's been in the league as long as I've been in the league and he's produced at such a high level for the last eight years," Allen said, according to NFL Network's Nick Shook.
"Just really getting to know him, we're locker mates, and to have that relationship that we already have, it's a pretty seamless fit. I'm excited to continue to get to work with him. He's going to be a huge help for us this next season and seasons to come."
The Bills showed faith in Moore right after the trade, as they guaranteed $15.5 million of Moore's $23.5 million base salary in 2028. His base salary in 2026 and 2027 is also fully guaranteed. He signed a four-year, $110-million extension with the Bears in July 2024.
Moore spent the last three seasons in Chicago and is coming off a campaign in which he recorded 50 receptions on 85 targets for 682 yards and six touchdowns. His 8.0 yards per target last year ranked 20th among all NFL wideouts, according to TruMedia.
The 29-year-old has posted four 1,000-plus yard campaigns during his eight-year NFL run, including a career-high 1,364-yard season in 2023. He was selected in the first round of the 2018 draft out of Maryland.
Moore was the Bills' high-profile acquisition this offseason. However, the team will enter its first season under new head coach Joe Brady, after he was promoted from offensive coordinator to replace Sean McDermott.
"A lot of new. We're gonna figure things out," Allen said of the team's overhaul. "Obviously, we go to camp July 28. That's really where you make your team. But like you said, a lot of new faces, offense, defense, staff-wise. New stadium. New head coach."
He added, "But, yeah, it's another tough task, but the goal remains the same, and that's to bring a Lombardi Trophy to Western New York. And we're going to do everything in our power to make that happen."
Buffalo's .730 regular-season winning percentage since the 2020 campaign ranks first in the league. However, the franchise has failed to reach the Super Bowl during that stretch and hasn't played in the league's championship since the 1993 season.
