The Tennessee Titans are making Jeffery Simmons the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history with a three-year, $105.8-million extension that includes $100 million in guaranteed money, his agency announced Friday.
Simmons previously had two years remaining on a four-year, $94-million contract he signed in 2023. He's been with the Titans since they selected him 19th overall in the 2019 draft.
"Tennessee has become a second home for me," Simmons said in a statement. "From Day 1, this organization believed in me, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue to pour into this franchise and community."
Simmons' $35.3-million average annual salary surpasses Chris Jones' mark by just over $3 million to make him the highest-paid defensive tackle, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The 29-year-old is coming off an incredible season in which he recorded a career-high 11 sacks with 67 tackles and 21 quarterback hits. His 64 pressures and 42 hurries ranked first among all defensive tackles in the league last season, according to PFF.
Simmons' campaign earned him the first first-team All-Pro nomination of his seven-year career. He's made four Pro Bowls and received two second-team All-Pro nods.
