FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets signed kicker Jason Sanders and waived kicker Younghoe Koo on Wednesday.

The move comes less than a week after they signed Koo, who played five games for the Giants last season.

Sanders will compete with Cade York for the job that was left open after Nick Folk, the team’s kicker last season, signed with Atlanta as a free agent in March.

Sanders joins the team after being cut by the Giants on Tuesday. Sanders was a seventh-round pick by the Dolphins in the 2018 draft.

He played seven seasons with the Dolphins where he ranks second in franchise history with 826 points and his 84.6% field-goal rate is the highest in team history of any player with at least 50 attempts. His 221 field goals rank second in Miami history behind Olindo Mare.

In 2024 he set a team record by making 27 straight field-goal attempts. He was a first-team All-Pro in 2020 when he set a Dolphins' season record by making 92.3% of his field goals.

Sanders sat out all last season with a hip injury before signing with the Giants in March.

The Jets also released receiver Da’Quan Felton on Wednesday.
