Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid says Patrick Mahomes is on track to participate in some capacity when the team hosts its first set of voluntary offseason practices from May 26-28.
"He is in a good position to be able to do some things," Reid said Saturday, according to ESPN's Nate Taylor. "If he can do some things, (he'll do it). Phase 2 (of the offseason program), remember, there's no contact and there's no offense vs. defense. It's Phase 3 that you get into that."
He added: "He's in a position where he can do everything, I think."
Mahomes is working his way back to full health after suffering a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee last December. The three-time Super Bowl champion said earlier this year that he hoped to participate in OTAs and training camp as he targets a Week 1 return.
Mahomes shared a video of him dropping back and throwing a football in March.
The 30-year-old went 6-8 last season - his worst record since becoming a full-time starter - as Kansas City missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
