49ers, Trent Williams resolve dispute with 2-year, $50M deal
The San Francisco 49ers agreed to a two-year, $50-million extension with left tackle Trent Williams, his agency Elite Loyalty Sports announced Monday.
The new contract includes $37 million fully guaranteed and a $22 million signing bonus, ensuring the 37-year-old remains with the Niners through the 2027 season.
Williams' extension ends an impasse that has hovered over the franchise this offseason. The 12-time Pro Bowler was set to enter the 2026 season with no guarantees remaining on his previous deal.
The Niners declined to exercise the $10 million bonus option in Williams' contract in March as the two sides continued to negotiate.
However, Williams appeared confident he'd eventually reach an agreement, saying in February that he expected to sign a short-term extension, according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner.
Williams, who turns 38 in July, has repeatedly told ESPN that he plans to play until he's 40, per Wagoner.
