Report: Texans sign Will Anderson to 3-year, $150M extension
The Houston Texans agreed to a three-year, $150-million contract extension with star edge rusher Will Anderson, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The deal reportedly includes $134 million guaranteed and makes Anderson the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. The agreement also contains a rare no-trade clause, Rapoport adds.
The Texans recently exercised the fifth-year option on Anderson's rookie contract, which would've kept him on Houston's roster through the 2027 season.
Anderson has earned plenty of accolades since the Texans drafted him third overall in 2023, including the 2023 Defensive Rookie of the Year and two Pro Bowl nods.
The 24-year-old's reported extension resets the market after a 2025 season in which he posted career highs of 20 tackles for loss and 12 sacks, earning first-team All-Pro honors.
