Report: Saints among teams engaged in trade talks for Giants' Thibodeaux
The New York Giants have engaged in trade talks involving edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux, sources told NFL reporter Jordan Schultz.
The New Orleans Saints are reportedly among the teams showing strong interest in Thibodeaux, who has recorded 23.5 sacks in his first four seasons. A trade could happen during Day 2 of the NFL draft, adds Schultz.
However, Giants general manager Joe Schoen denied the report.
"That's not true," Schoen told ESPN's Jordan Raanan.
Shortly after Schultz's report surfaced, Thibodeaux shared a cryptic Instagram post.

The Giants selected pass-rusher Arvell Reese with the fifth overall pick Thursday, landing an edge rusher in the top five for the third time in the past five years. New York selected Thibodeaux at No. 5 in 2022 and Abdul Carter at No. 3 in '25.
In 2024, the Giants also traded for Pro Bowl edge rusher Brian Burns, building one of the NFL's deepest and most promising defensive fronts.
Here's how N.Y.'s trio of Burns, Carter, and Thibodeaux performed in 2025:
| Age | Sacks | Pressures (PFF) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Burns | 27 | 16.5 | 53 |
| Carter | 22 | 4 | 66 |
| Thibodeaux | 25 | 2.5 | 32 |
Cameron Jordan and Chase Young led the Saints with 10.5 and 10 sacks last season, respectively. However, the 36-year-old Jordan remains unsigned.
