The Washington Commanders are signing running back Rachaad White to a one-year deal, his agent told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

White will reunite with Arizona State teammate Jayden Daniels.

The 27-year-old White spent four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He surpassed 1,000 scrimmage yards in 2023 and 2024. He rushed for 572 yards and caught 40 passes for 218 yards for four total touchdowns in 2025.

White's arrival comes one day after Chris Rodriguez Jr. left Washington to join the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jacory Croskey-Merritt is the only halfback currently under contract with the Commanders. Austin Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols, and Chase Edmonds remain unrestricted free agents.

The Bucs signed Kenneth Gainweill to fill White's roster spot. Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker round out Tampa Bay's tailback depth chart.
